UPgrowth Discourse: Nurturing Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Institution

The DOST-PCAARRD funded program known as the "RAISE-UGMARA Program" in Southern Mindanao, under SMAARRDEC, is focused on developing science and technology-based agricultural and aquatic enterprises in the AANR sector.
As part of the RAISE Program, UP Mindanao RAISE-UGMARA Project, in collaboration with USeP, hosted the Regional RAISE Caravan at UP Mindanao. During the Caravan, a seminar titled "UPGROWTH DISCOURSE: Nurturing Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Institution" was conducted.
Leo Ian D. Jovero, a Science Research Specialist from the University of Southeastern Philippines AGILab, introduced the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship to the participants. Mr. Jovero's insights resonated with attendees from various fields such as food technology and agri-business. He emphasized that entrepreneurship is not solely about selling products but also about seizing opportunities. His presentation served as a guiding beacon, illuminating the path to economic growth through innovation.
This talk also served as a stepping stone for research students, as UPMin TTBDO can guide them toward the right path of moving beyond research, emphasizing that their thesis work isn't just a graduation requirement but a valuable resource to leverage for their benefit.
