In partnership with the UPMin Office of Research, we kicked off the first session of the Mugna Workshop 2024, empowering students, faculty, and research staff with the essential skills for conducting effective prior art searches—a crucial step in safeguarding intellectual property.
Day 1 was led by Dyle S. Legaspi, Technology Research Officer, along with Jel Ann A. Degracia and Kris Kyle C. Quinco, Business Development Officers of TTBDO. They expertly guided participants through the fundamentals of intellectual property, its types, characteristics, and its significance in research and academia. The session also covered key strategies for successful prior art searches. With interactive discussions and hands-on activities, our participants are now equipped with the initial knowledge to level up their research and IP strategies.
Day 2 focused on hands-on activities and in-depth discussions on the importance of prior art searches and the next steps in research and innovation.
Mr. Michael Noel Bonghanoy, from the Office of Reserach delved deeper into practical techniques for conducting effective prior art searches, allowing participants to apply their learnings in real-time. Michael also emphasized the critical role of prior art searches in refining research ideas, identifying innovation opportunities, and safeguarding intellectual property.
As the workshop concluded, participants walked away with actionable insights and enhanced skills to navigate the landscape of intellectual property. Together, we’re leveling up our research and IP game—one step closer to fostering impactful innovation.
