The IDI Program is an incentive program that encourages UP faculty members and researchers to innovate, engage in technology transfer processes, and make the most significant possible impact with their R&D. It is also a monetary grant for inventors who disclose their inventions/technologies which have been assessed and accepted to have IP protection and commercialization potential. The first tranche is PhP15,000 (once accepted in the program), and the second tranche is PhP25,000 (once the invention is patented). So far, we are communicating with UP System-TTBDO and Prof. Alviola regarding this. The official awarding ceremony is still to be announced later on as there is still no final date.
The University of the Philippines (UP) President Danilo L. Concepcion kickstarted the event with warm opening remarks. Also present in the event were the UP Vice President for Academic Affairs Maria Cynthia Rose Banzon Bautista and officials from various university campuses.
