HIHEIRIT KICK OFF 2.0

The HEIRIT 2.0 KICK-OFF event is a 2-day event that marks the start of a two-year program to build skills for future technology business incubators. Which helps HEIs prepare for innovation and technopreneurship by supporting startup incubators. The program, funded by DOST-PCIEERD and run by UPGRADE and UPSCALE Innovation Hub, aims to boost the startup ecosystem with partners like Animolabs Foundation, E3Hubs Asia, and IISLA Ventures. The event that brings together a total of forty distinguished universities and colleges, all of which are putting forward proposals to establish a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) on their respective campuses through the DOST PCIEERD program. The Unversity of the Philippines Mindanao Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) actively engaged in and provided support for the launch of this event's program.

On Day 2, the morning began with a talk about the value of TBIs in the Philippines. Ms. Russell Pili from DOST-PCIEERD highlighted universities' role as innovation platforms and startup launchpads. She emphasized that universities' talents and ideas are crucial resources for building ecosystems. Following this, E3Hubs co-founder Mr. Andrew Wong Thiam Fook discussed the "Psychology of Entrepreneurship."
