The Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) hosted the "๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ, ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐, ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐น: ๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ผ ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐" event in collaboration with student organizations. This event aimed to raise awareness about the Technology Transfer Act of 2009 (RA 10055), foster an innovation culture, facilitate networking between UP Mindanao and industry stakeholders, and challenge participants' knowledge on Intellectual Property (IP) and Tech Transfer.
The first part of the event featured a lecture on ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฅ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฐ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ต (๐ฅ๐ ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฑ๐ฑ) spoken by Atty. Ryanlee Mesias, Executive Director of ICT Davao. He covered the background of RA 10055, intellectual property rights ownership, rights and responsibilities of the Government Funding Agency (GFA) and Research and Development Institute (RDI), fairness opinion report, and revenue sharing.
This was followed by a ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ผ๐ป ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ: ๐๐ฒ๐น๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป with Atty. Ryanlee Mesias, Prof. Miguel Carlo S. In the afternoon, there was an engagement in ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ & ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ: ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐, where a matching session took place involving DFSC, DMPCS, Coffee for Peace, DTI XI, DOST XI, IPOPHL, UNIFRUTTI, and MOST-BARMM. Discussions revolved around their respective industries, services, and areas of interest. Through these interactions, attendees connected and gained valuable insights, and future plans for collaboration.
At the same time, the ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐ค๐๐ถ๐: ๐ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฃ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ took place, with active participation from Computer Science, Biology, Food Technology, and Anthropology students of UP Mindanao. This engaging event provided an opportunity for students to test their knowledge on intellectual property and technology transfer concepts in a fun and interactive setting.
