Agri-Aqua Pitch Fest

Last December 6, 2022, UP Mindanao RAISE IP-TBM joined the Agri-Aqua Pitch Fest at Acacia Hotel Manila, Alabang Muntinlupa. This activity was organized by DOST-PCAARRD, the Association of PAQE Professionals (APP), and Licensing Executives Society (LES Philippines) which served as a culminating activity for the series of training conducted by APP in support of the DOST-PCAARRD-funded technology commercialization programs. These programs involved sixty-eight (68) state universities and colleges (SUCs) and research and development institutes (RDIs) across fifteen (15) regions. UP Mindanao is one of the project implementers through the leadership of Ms. Lynda A. Buenaobra. Together with her in the RAISE IP-TBM who joined the event are KC May San Miguel, Science Research Assistant of the said project, and Dominic Jude Arguillas, Junior Research Associate of TTBDO.
This event also held a technology poster competition wherein UP Mindanao’s Palay Paint poster was chosen as one of the top ten (10) finalists. The posters were displayed during the event. Palay Paint is a paint technology developed from an undergraduate thesis under the Department of Architecture where rice hull ash is utilized as a source paint binder to produce an Inorganic Silicate Mineral Paint (ISMP). This allows paint manufacturers or materials engineers to tap into underutilized indigenous resources that would otherwise end up in landfills.
