What started years ago as a simple product is now moving toward a bigger vision: establishing a sustainable business in New Valencia, Tugbok District, that also support our ube farmers. TTBDO, together with Department of Food Science and Chemistry - UP Mindanao and Dr. Ligaya Leal, met with the ube farmers of New Valencia to strengthen this collaboration. 

The discussion focused on improving the shelf life, consistency, food safety, and overall quality of the ube jam product through research and collaboration. Initial directions were also identified on how to move forward with its continuous improvement, including tapping into technical expertise and research support to further strengthen and develop the product. Efforts to enhance branding were also discussed to help better position the product in the market. 

As a next step, both parties agreed to move forward with drafting a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to formally establish the collaboration and guide the research initiatives ahead.
